Yahoo!

Ben and I both managed to catch what I assume to be the Ebola virus yesterday (or whatever that monkey had in Outbreak, you know, the one off Friends). This has manifested for me in a small headcold and for Ben. . . .well lets just say if you stuck a stake through his stomach, attached him to a post and spun him round he would look a lot like a Catherine Wheel.
Despite these setbacks, we managed the Herculean task of signing our respective names to a piece of paper, namely a contract with Yahoo!. They have come on board as the online media partner for SOUTH; we will be blogging and sending back pictures and video direct to Yahoo!’s site every day that we are on the ice and generally trying to fit as many people as possible into our tent. We are very excited about this and Yahoo! have been amazing, coming up with new and very clever ideas for ways that we can better interact with the people following our misadventures.
The only real fly in the ointment so far has been the difficulty in writing sentences involving Yahoo!’s name that don’t have multiple punctuation marks all squashed together. I’m not sure whether it is polite to drop the exclamation mark, but typing !. or !’s is in danger of shattering my fragile little mind. Nevertheless, we couldn’t ask for a better partner and my thanks to Jules and Jon for not running screaming for the door when they heard just how big this project was going to be. Their support is worth any number of grammatical massacres.
