My name is John Roman - originally from Avonbridge ( Falkirk) - educated at Falkirk High School - then Heriot/Watt and University of Stirling.I am presently teaching in Shanghai - have been for the past seven years.I also try to expand my students experience and knowledge of the world in aspects rather than pure education.Last year I invited Geoff Green - Canadian Antactic explorer to talk to our students. Geoff has a web site - studentsonice. He takes expeditions to both Arctic and Antarctic once a year each.In July 2006 one of my students, Julie Cheng ,undertook the Arctic expedition and was full of admiration for the expedition and its contribution to saving of the environment. I have already spoken to Julie after reading about Polar Academy and its values - and she is excited about any possibilty of trecking to the North Pole.
