Onion or Oracle?

The Onion is possibly the most consistently funny site on the internet, but it can also be frighteningly prescient. It predicted the advent of Gillette’s five-bladed razor more than a year ago, and now Cynical-C has drawn my attention to the Onion’s report just days before Bush assumed office where they successfully predicted the administration’s attempt to drill in areas designated as national parks, the record deficit, the concentration on ballistic missile defence as well as at least one (and counting) war in the gulf region. I can’t see the WaPo or NYT doing any better.
