The Winterover Halfway Film Festival

Posted by tony under: Polar; Random .

The science and support types living through six months of darkness at the South Pole need to provide their own entertainment. Thus the Winterover Halfway Film Festival (WHIFF) was created. The production values and performance quality easily matches that of the best Cannes entrant and the special effects are truly groundbreaking. Many of the film entrants can be found here, with my personal favourite being a classic tale of one dog’s loyalty to his base and mission.

I was wondering where all the EU traffic was coming from.

Good luck in your trek to my office. I will have left Amundsen-Scott by the time you get here (believe me 13 months is enough) but if there is anything you need (beer, a t-bone steak, women) I will be sure to have my replacement have something waiting for you (well maybe not women). I will think of your hardships while I am having a pint in Christchurch.

Best Regards… Patrick
